[attr="class","spiral"] Among Hoenn's legendary stories, one remains lost to time. This tale documents the legendary pilgrimage of three wise men and their mission to purge the region of it's earthly desires. These 'kleshas' become the manifestation of humanity's sins. Their adverse affect on the world causes Mother Nature to turn against them, spurring Pokemon to act as agents of change, purging these sins by any means necessary.

The first one was known for his CHASITY, celibate until his death, purity incarnate, free from temptation.

The second one was known for his TECHNICALITY, unsoiled but not necessarily untouched. His method of purification exceeded the boundaries set by the laws of old, allowing him to exist and act without tempting fate.

The last one was known for his AVARICE, relishing in sin to absorb the kleshas of others. Through no interest of his own, he would act as a confession, bearing the burden of debauchery so that others may be cleansed of their sins.

Unrelated to this tale, a flock of Froslass and Jynx have descend onto the outskirts of Fortree. They seek to siphon the souls of the settlement's men, only going after those who have engaged in any form of affection or romantic interest. The splurge of mistletoes and mono have created an epicenter for these Pokemon to congregate, looking to right the wrongs of humanity by putting an end to these holiday cybers.

Raziel Beckett, kyle lopez, and FERNANDO SILPH have been dispatched by the League to stop this menace.

Unbeknownst to them, they are also here to fulfill the prophecy of the three wise men.

kyle doesn't know shit about these legendary tales since they don't involve any cool giant pokemon or super powers. like any other kid, the only ones that he retained in his head are the ones that sounded cool, and the klesha stuff do not particularly appeal to young kyle.

without regard to that knowledge, kyle treks on, taking the lead from the gym leader and the ranger by virtue of being the highest rank among them if one disregard's fernando's position in the political system of the league. on his arms was his ninetales, whose tail dangle to the ground as kyle walks awkwardly to prevent himself from tripping on them.

"we just blast them when we see them, right?" kyle asks.

the only precaution he took was getting a fire-type, one that has the ability to seemingly cause droughts as the skies were almost always clear with them around. it's shiny though, so it may pass off as its ice-type variant.

When asked if he would join on the team that was taking on the problematic ghost Razz was more than happy to comply. He probably shouldn't have seeing on one of his 'dates' he did have a few shots. However it has been a stressful day so far, and ending it all with a mission sounded therapeutic. If nothing else the drinks felt like they kept his body warm as they ventured further where it seemed to only want to get colder and colder. [break][break]

Razz decided to take up the rear of the group not wanting to be anywhere near the fiery Ninetails. "Unless those at Fortree are lying to us," because often when people asked for help they made the threat not seem as bad as it was, "They should just be a normal group of Frosslass, so do be careful of them trying to freeze you," he warned from behind. He may not be Elite Four or a Gym Leader but has a Ranger he has seen things, and been informed or other stories of a Froslass' victims. As usual he had Salem with him, the cat's fur aiding in keeping him warm as well as his Lucario. The Aura pokemon seeing what it could Detect as they traveled.

Fernando bludgeons through the ankle deep snow with a steep annoyance when each step causes his boots to sink. Unlike the others, he keeps his Pokemon contained. The current weather proves anything but accommodating, forcing him to keep them in reserves until the need arises. After all, what could prove too much for the two trainers accompanying him? Nothing short of certain disaster comes to mind. And, if that's the case, he'll hardly make a difference.

"Feel free to catch whichever one captures your interest," he reminds Razz, the one less acclimated to Fernando's method of subjugation.

The further the trio walk the harsher the BLIZZARD becomes. Even in the face of Ninetail's DOUGHT, the beaming sun barely puts a damper on the combined efforts of the migratory Pokemon. In the horizon, their forms blot the canvas with the blue flames of their WILL-O-WISP. A sudden gust of wind washes over them, brushing them with fresh snow as the Pokemon approach.

For whatever reason, they seem to ignore Razz in his entirety.

"oh shit!"

he drops his ninetales on the ground as the attacks start coming right at them. the fire-type's tails all stand to their ends as the pokemon gets ready for the fight. without needing a command from her trainer, the ninetales uses the move it thinks is most applicable to the situation.

fire blast.

an inferno comes from the ninetales' mouth, blazing through what it could from the blast of cold winds that blow towards them. snow melts before it comes into impact and cuts through what kyle can only assume to be a start of a blizzard.

The thing he feels he likes best as he works with these two is that they like to keep things simple. Go in beat it and be done, and considering they were both a Gym Leader and Elite Four alike they were defiantly good enough to get near everything done that way. It almost makes him ponder why bring some low level ranger along, but he'll try to keep that out of his head as he is trying to warm his hands due to the Blizzard. "Uhhh right, thank you," is his response to Fernando unsure why he would need to say it, but he does suppose adding this type of pokemon could be useful in rescues such as these. [break][break]

It took some time but it seems like the Frosslass were finally letting themselves be known, well possibly for all he knew they were just using the WILL-O-WISP to distract them. Not that the ninetales was giving them much of a chance as it used Fire Blast. Razz's pyrophobia making him unconsciously step back some to put some more distance between him and the fire pokemon, they should be fine. [break][break]

Salem calls out to him to inform him of one off to his right side. It doesn't go unnoticed how it doesn't even give him a second glance as it passes him when the wind picks up and snow makes them slightly harder to make out. He gives a whistle to give a command to dodger as the Aura pokemon attempts to use FLAME KICK at what had just passed.

[attr="class","spiral"]Kyle assumes correct. The WILL-O-WISP miss their mark, phasing through sleet and snow, but serving as a perfect warning shot for the BLIZZARD to come. Harsh winds batter all of them but not enough so to deter Razz's Lucario from landing a solid BLAZE KICK.

Like the Poipole from the way, the Froslass descend at set intervals, careening around Kyle and Fernando as they try to lay a DRAINING KISS onto their victims. However, once they've gotten a taste of Kyle, the Froslass lose interest. Technically, his vitality is not meant for them. Or at least it doesn't taste like it is.

kyle is too caught in the moment to worry about the froslass coming right at him. he shoos them away from him when they come near him, swatting his hand right through them until the move away from him for a different reason.

"keep burning them!"

the ninetales kept on firing off fire blast after fire blast at each froslass. patches of snow melt upon impact, leaving most of the immediate vicinity with dry ground.

Razz can't help but wonder why the ghost are ignoring him. While the Blaze kick helped in taking out one had passed him the ranger paused for a moment as the ghost went after the other two with a Draining Kiss. While Kyle they seemed to lose interest in the same couldn't be said for Fernando, "Protect Silph!" the ranger is quick to order as his Lucario uses BONE RUSH to create bones to strike them back enough for Salem to use his PSYCHIC to pull the councilman away from the hungry spirits. [break][break]

After Salem uses SHADOW BALL toward them to try and blast them away. "Are you alright Mr. Silph?"

[attr="class","spiral"]If they have no interest in Razz, and Kyle's vitality doesn't fit their palate, that only leaves Fernando as a suitable food source. They congregate all at once, several pried off by the efforts of both trainers, but their numbers are too numerous. Even Fernando's Pyroar, released moments before they descends, cannot keep them at bay. It's FLAMETHROWER cuts through their pathing as they fly around the constant flames, eager to suck out his soul with greedy kisses.

The sudden lurch from Meowstic's PSYCHIC rips him clean from the ghosts. Fernando can feel the kinetic force pluck him away, hurled by something unseen. "Never better," he grunts, hands on his knees as he tries to gather himself back up from the sudden vertigo.

"Let's clean up."

with razz concerned with the councilman, kyle's attention is all on the battle. no need to check on him when someone else does, right?

eventually, the ninetales gets exhausted by the repetitive use of fire blast. it's not as spammable as any other move, after all, with more power and intensity backing up each attack as opposed to the steady nature of flamethrower. still, it's not the only thing kyle's ninetales knows.

there's always more than one way to approach an encounter with wild pokemon than just battling them. throwing damaging attacks might be the most straightforward way to get rid of them, though kyle can't be bothered to keep pushing through with a tactic that has been proven ineffective enough to get rid of hordes.

"just roar them away at this point."

a rumble sounds on the ninetales' throat before it releases a deafening roar, finally scaring some of the less dependable froslass from crowding over them.

The ranger worked very hard to try to keep up a good image. He wanted to be considered reliable, and he wanted to keep good impressions so that it would reflect well on the organization he worked for. Though he had his faults. One of them fire which anyone whos worked with him might be able to notice. Though other not as known one was Pyroars. So when Fernando decided to summon his own to aide them the Ranger found himself somewhat frozen in place. [break][break]

Event he orders seemed hard to follow for a minute so Salem seemed to take change for the minute and gets one of his trainer's pokeballs to bring out Stonjouner. With their Power Spot ability, the moves of the other's would increase at least to help combat what felt like and ever increasing onslaught of Froslass. And with an additional assist with Salem using Helping Hand, the others wouldn't have much trouble taking on the ghost. Salem gives one more order for the Big Rock Pokemon to cast Wide Guard to keep the humans safe from them.

Noticeably, Fernando contributes the least, more of a victim than a hero, but that goes in line with the amount of attention the Pokemon have given him. “Interesting,” he murmurs between heaving breaths. Despite the cold, he can feel the heat of his Pyroar and the sudden exertion weigh down on him.

“Wonder why they never went for you two.”

Some legends do come true.

giving in with the secret tactic only useable against wild pokemon, kyle dismisses himself with the job of getting rid of the froslass. his attention goes to the metaphorically frozen ranger, cocking his head to a side and then raising a brow as he observes his sudden shift in demeanor.

"you okay kingsman?" he asks razz. he'd inquire more, though he decides to give fernando a response first. "it's for your character development," he answers him in jest.

he gives himself a chuckle, laughing at his own joke since he knows no one else will. uncertain on how to handle razz's situation, he places a hand on his shoulder and hopes that he can recover on his own. kyle wasn't good at comforting people after all.

"we can head back now, right?" he asks fernando right afterwards, loud enough that maybe it can snap the ranger back.

Thankfully their combined efforts are enough to finally drive away the spirits that have been haunting. Not that his attention was in the right place as he was still dealing with some issues. Razz can't help the way he jumps a little as the other ask him something. "I... yeah... just fine..." he lies but it's clear that he has no plans on revealing what his problem was. For now Salem just jumps to his chest to let himself be held as Razz focuses on the purring. [break][break]

"Wasn't the legend something on virtue? or sin? Either way they might not like yours," Razz comments on Fern's question as he tried focusing on anything else for now but only gives a nod about leaving because he was done here thanks. Hopefully it'll get the other to recall their Pyroar sooner.
